Association for Coaching – Council Roles & Responsibilities
As the AC is a non profit organisation, the roles below are unpaid. However, a small bursary will be paid for expenses, along with the AC membership fee being waived while in office.
Head of Course Recognition |
This new role involves expanding the AC’s course recognition scheme for organisations and training providers. In addition to developing further criteria, the person needs to be able to recruit, monitor and lead a small team of assessors, liaise with the AC Council, be comfortable with organising systems, liaise with external bodies and answer course recognition enquiries. This also includes attending Council quarterly meetings, strategy days, and events where appropriate. The post-holder should have knowledge of validation processes and an ability to understand the issues with running a fair and quality focused benchmarking scheme. Min hours per month: 12 |
Head of Organisational Development |
The role is focused on promoting coaching as an OD tool to organisations. The main goal is to educate people in organisations on the benefits of coaching, how coaching works and to establish best practice standards that they can adopt. The role is also responsible, alongside Marketing and Membership, for growing the AC’s organizational/corporate memberships and to attract organisations’ sponsorship of AC events. As a result of promoting coaching within organizations, the role will also provide opportunities for AC members to work with organisations. Min hours per month: 12 |
Head of Research |
The role of the Head of Research is to provide insight and information on key aspects of the Coaching industry. Responsibilities include coordinating the maintenance of an electronic library of research information, fulfilling information/research requests by members and initiating research surveys either to answer specific questions or provide on-going trend analysis. The role also includes the responsibility of disseminating research findings in an informative yet independent and balanced manner. Min hours per month: 12 |
Head of Marketing |
This role is instrumental to helping the AC continue to build its brand and communicate clearly to members and the market all that the AC is doing. Min hours per month: 12 |
Head of Communications |
The purpose of the Communications role is to ensure members are aware of developments, opportunities and progress in the AC, such that they are in a position to best benefit from all the AC has to offer. This includes the development and management of a strategic membership communications in order to ensure members receive relevant information in a timely and coordinated way, the production of members updates, and the quarterly AC Bulletin. Min hours per month: 12 |
