General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was approved by the EU Parliament on 14th April 2016. The enforcement date for this is 25th May 2018 - at which time those organizations in non-compliance may face heavy fines.

The EU GDPR replaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and was designed to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe, to protect and empower all EU citizens data privacy and to reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy.

The Association for Coaching wishes to help you get ready for the GDPR and we invite you to join this webinar to find out all about it and ask your questions regarding implementation.

Getting Set for GDPR: Your Plain English Guide

This webinar will provide an introduction to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - ahead of the 25th May 2018 live date.

GDPR is positioned as an evolution of the data security and privacy principles established in the 1998 Data Protection Act.

The regulation includes a) a significantly expanded definition of 'personal data'  and b) broader scope to cover all aspects of business operations.

As consumers we should welcome GDPR, as businesses we need to review all personal data held and develop compliant practices and processes.

In this webinar you will learn:

a) The rights, principles and responsibilities contained in the GDPR

b) The scope of GDPR - especially how it impacts business operations beyond marketing

c) The steps involved in preparing for compliance - including new consent requirements and the role of legitimate interest
