Through this introductory CPD event with Anna Sheather you will discover for yourselves how using an art based approach can deepen and enrich our coaching conversations with our clients, leading to shifts in personal awareness, understanding and meaning. It is a very powerful approach for personal development and growth.  There is, however, no requirement to be able to draw or to consider yourself creative, just a requirement to come with an open mind and give it a go. Materials will be provided.

During this event you will be introduced to, and start to explore, the richness and depth that art based working can bring to your practices.

You will learn:

  • What we mean by art in coaching
  • Why this approach is so beneficial and important for our practice, including an introduction to some of the neuroscience
  • What happens when we work in this way through creating and exploring your own images
  • How to facilitate the exploration of others’ images, taking a person-centred approach and working beyond words

Speaker Bio:

Anna Sheather is an executive coach and coach supervisor who also paints.  As she has developed and grown as a coach, the more she has been drawn to combining her passion for creating with that for coaching. It was a discussion with her own coach supervisor that spurred her on when he said ‘we are very fortunate as we can choose where to put our energy’. That was all it took and off she went researching, talking, reading and finally launching ‘Art in Coaching’ providing workshops for coaches who want to develop this transformational approach as part of their practice.

More formerly, Anna trained with Henley Business School (at least 12 years ago). She is an APECS accredited executive coach and qualified as a coach supervisor with Bath Consultancy Group just over two years ago. She has been running her own coaching practice, Elan Coaching Ltd www.elancoaching.co.uk , since January 2007 and she works with coachees from a variety of different sectors, most of whom are leaders or are developing to be leaders. The area she most enjoys is creating those behavioural transformational shifts that brings coachees the success they are looking for. Art can play an invaluable role in achieving this.

Anna also thoroughly enjoy her supervision work. She considers it a great privilege to support coaches in developing and growing their practice. Art sneaks in here too as it is a great way to unpick those conundrums and make visible the hidden processes and dynamics in our work.

This workshop is eligible for CPD and a Certificate will be sent to you after the event.  We look forward to seeing you there!
