AC Accreditation

The AC’s commitment to championing standards of excellence in the coaching profession is reflected in these AC awards indicate to buyers of coaching and related services that an individual or organization has been assessed as working within a robust Coaching Competency Framework, adhering to the Global Code of Ethics for Coaches & Mentors and in line with the standards of the accreditation awarded.

Benefits of being accredited

The coaching industry has now matured to the extent that buyers of coaching services, both individuals and organizations, require ways to compare and differentiate between coaches. They wish to know that a coach, supervisor or a coach training programme is likely to be effective, and that the service provided will be fit-for-purpose, before investing.

Accreditation options

Coach Accreditation

Our Coach Accreditation Scheme has been designed to demonstrate that those who have achieved AC Accreditation are committed to best practice and continuous improvement in their coaching. They have proved that they are able to use a range of tools and techniques with their clients resulting in positive outcomes. AC Accredited Coaches are also committed to their own development as a coach by having regular supervision along with enhancing their abilities through undertaking a variety of CPDactivities.

Coaching Supervisor Accreditation

Coaches need a quality benchmark to use when selecting a supervisor. An accreditation process requires a coaching supervisor to demonstrate a commitment to client care and professional development. Although accreditation cannot eliminate bad practice completely, in conjunction with an effective Code of Ethics and Good Practice it does encourage standards of excellence.

Coach Training Accreditation

AC Coach Training Accreditation offers reassurance to buyers of coach training with regard to the level of knowledge, practical experience and application of coaching competencies, all benchmarked against best practice. Plus, the AC believes that by taking the time and care to meet accreditation criteria for a course, a training provider demonstrates its commitment to developing effective coaches as well as ensuring a course meets quality standards. Accrediting a coach training helps to minimise sub-standard coaching through the teaching of ethical and rigorous coach practice.

Recognized Leader as Coach

The AC has introduced an award for courses aimed at teaching coaching skills to organizational leaders and managers. Our belief is that coaching skills are an essential leadership tool. The AC is working to help organizations benefit from a coaching culture and enable their leaders and managers to develop and empower their teams through a coaching approach.
