SPEAKER BIO

Robert Bownes has ten years of experience in PR and marketing. Prior to founding Old Street Communications, he was Director of Communications for data science and marketing technology company Profusion. There, he built a press office function from scratch, creating a content pipeline, PR function, brand guidelines, and an awards and events programme. The initiatives resulted in 300+ pieces of earned media coverage in the first year, including the BBC, Guardian, Daily Telegraph, Bloomberg and Wall Street Journal. Profusion won numerous awards and secured a series of high profile speaking opportunities at some of the world’s largest tech events. Before joining Profusion, he worked with Ballou PR to deliver award-winning full-service PR campaigns for companies including Waze, Eventbrite, Flipboard, WhatsApp, Seatwave, eBay, GoEuro and many more. Robert started his career in professional services PR where he worked with global law and property firms.
