About this event:

Embodied Coaching is a method that helps coaches access implicit ‘non-conscious’ knowledge and explore how it influences behaviour, habits and relationships. Accessing this knowledge allows expression that may not otherwise be possible and opens doors for exploration and transformation. We can engage with implicit knowledge through two primary pathways: focusing on tacit, body processes and exploring emerging images and metaphors using the arts.

The term embodiment refers to patterns of behaviour we develop throughout life to manage the world around us. These patterns have a physical manifestation expressed in body processes including posture, movement, tone of voice and breath, that are often not in our awareness. As a coach how ‘we show up’ is to do with our embodied presence.

The workshop will introduce how the body and arts can be used in coaching. The main part will be experiential where you can try out different ways of accessing implicit knowledge to increase awareness, and how you might begin to work with your coachees.

The workshop is open to all who are interested in learning more about how to use the body as an additional skill in their practice.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Attend more closely to the body process in your coaching practice
  • Widen your range of interventions to include body process
  • Enable coachees to have more awareness about their body process
