ABOUT THE EVENT :
Motivational Interviewing is one of the most empirically supported coaching approaches, with over 1,000 controlled trials and 100 systematic reviews and metaanalysis. Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, person-centred conversational style for helping people become more able to change, and more confident about changing, delivered within an empathic and compassionate relationship.
BY THE END OF THE SESSION, PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN:
- what Motivational Interviewing is and what it isn't
- the spirit, principles and processes of the Motivational Interviewing approach
- common coaching traps, and how Motivational Interviewing stops you falling into them.
- the importance of 'change talk' and how to notice and strengthen it
- how get going with 2-3 Motivational Interviewing compatible tools and strategies
At the end of the seminar you will be more confident about spending more time using a Motivational Interviewing style in your conversations, as well as knowing how to get better at the approach in the future should you wish.
