Short description of the topic

This webinar series is dedicated to organisational coaches seeking to become (even) more effective and relevant in today’s ever more complex world, and to OD and HR professionals seeking to leverage more value from their investment in coaching services.

Traditional approaches to coaching fail to account for the way organisations really work. Attempts to enhance leadership capability one person at a time, through private one-to-one coaching sessions, are unlikely to succeed by themselves.

In the Coaching in Three Dimensions book, published by Routledge, Paul Lawrence & Allen Moore offer a more connected and systemic approach, aligning coaching with the realities and challenges of organisations operating in an ever more complex world. In the foreword to the book Jennifer Garvey Berger says: “Some books are braver than others. Some push delicately at a field or idea, nudging it gently so that the reader is led to a new idea like a comfortable walk down a marked pathway, no surprises, nothing dangerous head. Other books, like this one, barrel past the boundaries of a field, pushing down the fences and scattering the sacred cows”.

In this webinar series, Dr Paul Lawrence will provide a brief theoretical overview to the model, before focusing on its practical application working with individuals, teams and organisations.

In this webinar series you will learn:

  1. Some practical approaches to coaching individuals systemically
  2. How to build a coaching culture
  3. Learning how to think differently – new approaches to CPD

Topics and schedule for the webinar series

**Live webinars will take place at: 10hrs00 GMT (20.00 AEST) on the above mentioned dates.

Webinar 1: Coaching in Three Dimensions – deciding who we are as coach
In this first webinar Paul will provide an overview of the Coaching in Three Dimensions model and outline a framework the coach can use to make a difference to their approach, their practice and their approach to continuing professional development.

Webinar 2: Systemic approaches to coaching individuals
In this webinar Paul provides some concrete examples of how coaches can immediately begin to integrate a more systemic approach into their coaching practice, today.

Webinar 3: How to build a coaching culture – a dialogic approach
Many texts suggest we can build coaching cultures solely through a mix of coaching skills programs and coaching assignments. In this webinar Paul outlines a dialogic/systemic approach to building coaching cultures that is much more likely to lead to sustainable behavioural change at the organisational level.

Webinar 4: Learning to think differently – becoming a systemic coach
Becoming a better coach is not only about learning new skills. It’s also about acquiring knowledge, and structuring an environment in which we will learn how to think differently. In this webinar Paul will outline a practical framework for continuing professional development.

Recordings and slides will be made available for all registered participants.

A number of preparatory videos will be made available to all registered participants in the booking confirmation email.

The material and resources will be drawn from the book Coaching in Three Dimensions: Meeting the Challenges of a Complex World, published by Routledge. For those interested in purchasing the book, there will be a 20% discount code in the booking confirmation.
