Emotional Intelligence for Life and Leadership
To be an effective coach or leader we need the skills to manage our own emotions well and influence the emotions of other people toward positive outcomes.
This programme focuses on what Emotional Intelligence (EI) is and why it is essential to coaching and leadership success. We will explore the neurological and biological foundations of EI as well as the research linking it to high-performance leadership.
Having conducted an extensive review of the research on the relationship between several models of EI over a 10-year period, our speaker, Judy Purse and Martyn Newman have identified ten social and emotional competencies linked to workplace performance. The resulting model is called Emotional Capital and Judy will provide an overview of it in this webinar series.
Who is this for?
Leaders, HR and OD practitioners, Executive Coaches, Career, Life or Wellbeing Coaches.
The topic is relevant for coaches who wish to improve their own performance as a coach and also assist others to lead more effectively. Participants will leave with a solid understanding of emotional intelligence and its relationship to leadership success.
In this webinar series you will learn:
- The origin and foundations of Emotional Intelligence in literature and its relevance to coaching and leadership practices
- The Emotional Intelligence skills that support high performance in life and work
- How to build Emotional Intelligence in your own life and how to add it to the coaching skill set that you offer your clients.
We will also consider key learning points such as:
- the differences between genders, age and cultures when it comes to Emotional Intelligence;
- what neuroscience has taught us about learning new patterns of behaviour;
- what Emotional Intelligence teaches us about maintaining energy and passion for work and life.

In this webinar, Judy will provide an overview of these 10 EI skills and discuss how they can become a valuable addition to your coach’s tool-kit.
