About the Event

The eFIRE coaching model (Abbott, 2017) is introduced, which promotes a methodology and mindset that embraces paradox while encouraging focused and pragmatic approaches to change. Cultural dimensions are considered from an opportunity perspective using paradoxical thinking to generate creative tension.

The workshop is a participative and experiential event where participants are encouraged to share challenges and coach each other using the models introduced in each session.

Coaches and manager-coaches who are working in complex organisational settings where executives are grappling with inherent tensions that cannot easily be resolved – or even seem intractable.

The event will be of particular interest to coaches and manager-coaches whose context is cross-border/cross-cultural/global.

In this Skills Development Day you will:

  •  Gain a deeper understanding of the nature of and possibilities provided by  inherent tensions in organizational life

  • Learn coaching approaches to work with creative tensions in ways that generate positive outcome

  • Enhance paradoxical thinking for application to coaching and executive problems

  • Increase coaching impact in culturally diverse / global context by positioning differences as opportunities for growth.
