About the event
The Association for Coaching (AC) are delighted to welcome Errol Benvie for a lunch workshop. The topic for the session is Unconscious Bias and Uncommon Sense. Errol Benvie specialises in cognitive developmental coaching; working with leaders helping them understand the patterns, biases and boundaries of their thinking capabilities. Making these conscious and shifting them is in effect how adult learning and development takes place. Coaches are not spared their own patterns and biases constraining their developmental growth. Errol will facilitate a reflective generative dialogue exploring some of the patterns and biases in organisational coaching practice.
Errol is the Principal Director of Wisdom Lab with more than 25 years C Suite corporate experience across industries and in multiple countries. A Masters of Organisational Coaching from Sydney University launched his second career as a human systems practitioner-scholar applying his deep experience to researching, interpreting and designing organisational applications from the humanities, sociology, human psychology and philosophy.

Building on a 25 year multi industry C-suite corporate career in highly complex 1st/3rd world global environments, a Masters of Organisational Coaching from Sydney University in 2006 launched his second career as a human systems practitioner-scholar, applying his deep senior leadership experience to researching, interpreting and designing organisational applications from the humanities, sociology, human psychology and philosophy.
Subscribing to Einstein’s principle that “a problem cannot be solved with the same level of thinking that created it”, he helps his clients work on this universal challenge through a humanist approach to systemic complexity. His style is provocative and challenges clients to look beyond the patterns holding the status quo in place, to expose the paradox and ambiguity hiding their clearer understanding. These patterns drive organisations to do the same things over and over expecting different results.
Errol works with groups and strategic leaders in organisations on how to flourish and gain competitive advantage from being able to learn and think beyond the competition.
As with all Association for Coaching events, your attendance will qualify you for a CPD (Continuous Professional Development) Certificate, which will be emailed to you after the event.
