About the event
Current research on transformational leadership points to the emergence of a paradigm shift in what is considered "effective" leadership. With the flattening of hierarchies, the explosion of diversity and the evolution towards virtual, networked organizations, a new type of leader is emergent: the "beta"—or post-heroic—leader. In this session Dr. Jeffrey Hull will review the evidence-based research underpinning this revolution and share a leadership assessment/coaching model developed to help coaches support leaders who are grappling with this sea-change in what it means to lead.
As Dr. Hull describes in his new book, FLEX: The Art and Science of Leadership in a Changing World (Penguin, June 2019) the "alpha" model of leadership may be on the wane, but organizations still need to be led. The key for "next generation" leaders is to develop the agility to succeed in dynamic, fluid environments -- to know themselves, and learn to flex!
This event is a complimentary event for members and non-members.
