Taking Coaching Conversations Outdoors
The “Taking Coaching Conversations Outdoors” webinar series consists of two 1-hour webinars with the opportunity to apply ideas within your coaching practice in-between sessions. Both webinars will be highly discursive with a brief introduction before participants are invited to share their ideas.
In this webinar series you will:
- Discover the art and science behind walking and talking coaching.
- Explore the benefits of movement and connection to the great outdoors to support your coaching practice.
- Experience walking and talking coaching.
Webinar 1. “Taking Coaching Conversations Outdoors – part 1” on Thursday, 6 February 2020.
During the initial webinar, Anna-Marie will briefly share her passion for coaching outdoors with links to evidence-based research and illustrated through coaching client case studies.
The “WALKTALK” framework will be described as an essential check list to cover logistical and administrative considerations before heading outdoors.
In between webinars: Practical application
Step outside (once, twice or several times!) for walking and talking coaching conversations with a peer coach or client who’s willing to experiment with this approach over the 7-week interlude. In preparation for the second webinar capture the thoughts, observations, and feelings of both yourself and your coaching client before, during and afterwards coaching outdoors.
Webinar 2. “Taking Coaching Conversations Outdoors – part 2” on Thursday, 26 March 2020.
This second webinar offers the opportunity to reconvene with fellow attendees from the initial webinar. The open discussion format will enable you to share your experiences, reflect on your insights and learnings gained whilst coaching outdoors; and guide future practice.
Anna-Marie is a certified Performance Coach with a serious passion for the outdoors who loves to accompany her clients on walking and talking coaching conversations. Former British Army Officer, she has worked in challenging environments from snowy Arctic tundra to hot and sandy deserts.
She has been at the forefront of leadership development for over 18 years supporting high performing individuals and teams across five continents. She has an insatiable curiosity at the world and is a self-certified learning junkie with a Post Graduate Certificate in Applied Coaching from the University of Derby and Master’s in Teaching from the University of Sydney; amongst other psychological and psychometric based coaching tools.
Alongside her passion for performance and coaching Anna-Marie links her work into the ultra-running arena where she competes on the international circuit. She loves racing overseas and regularly achieves podium positions on the Ultra Trail World Tour series, Marathon des Sables and other long-distance running events.
Anna-Marie is on a mission to encourage fellow coaches to take their coaching practice outdoors across the world.
Reflect on your beliefs about coaching outdoors, prepare some questions or comments that you can share with others when online.
Participants will gain access to the webinar recording and a copy of the slides after each session.
