This virtual event will be facilitated by three coaches covering the following topics:
1. Mandy Gutsell - Creating Courageous Coaching Conversations
In this section of the event we will take a look into the background to how this topic evolved through the speakers’ experience. We will explore action research on insights coaches have shared about their own courage and that of their clients. We will also look deeper into how vulnerability can be a source of strength in ‘Creating Courageous Coaching Conversations’ to live more fuller and richer lives in all aspects. Our speaker Mandy will utilise her professional and personal experience which includes 30 years in the area of Mental health, Further Education. She has run her own business for 25 years and brings a wealth of expertise with a diverse range of clients she works with including Coaching, Therapy, Personal Development courses and Supervision.
2. Louise Creswick - Courageous Coaching Conversations about grief and loss
In this section our speaker will explore the courage to coach flexibly free of grief models and theories. We will look at loss and support in the form of coaching and consider where the conversation sits. Our speaker Louise will utilise her professional and personal experience. She runs her own Coaching business specialising in the field of grief and loss. Soon after completing her MSc in Psychology, she lost her mom and then several years later her dad to dementia. She started work in Mental health and then in a leadership role in the social housing sector. After being made redundant twice Louise trained as a Life Coach and NLP Practioner. She is currently undertaking teacher training in Mindfulness which she incorporated in her work.
3. Neale Wood - Courageous 3Ps questions when dealing with suicide
The 3Ps represent Universal Mind, Thought and Consciousness the founder being Sydney Banks. In this section we will explore how the 3Ps creates understanding to allow the level of grounding needed to get deeper into the clients mind, and ability to be truly present with your clients. Our speaker Neale will utilise his professional and personal experience. Having suffered from PTSD over 20 years ago, whilst a serving Police Constable he used this experience to understand the affects of stress in all its forms and how it impacts on the whole body. He is a consultant specialist in the field of Stress and has worked with some of the largest businesses covering all sectors including Vinchy PLC, RNLI and Birmgingham City Council. Neale is now working as a Transformational Coach, and by using the 3Ps he finds results can be gained faster for the clients he is in service to.
In this Virtual Event you will learn:
1. How Courage and Coaching are connected and the conditions needed to allow Courage to be present.
2. How having Courage present can move the Coaching from transactional to transformational.
3. The key components of a Courageous Conversation with clients experiencing loss and grief
4. How the 3Ps can allow the level of grounding needed to develop Courageous Questioning skills when dealing with suicide.
Mandy Gutsell is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, an Organisational Systems Relationship Coach and a Certified Parent Coach for Teens. She supervises a range of practitioners including coaches, therapists and leaders from a variety of backgrounds through her company KnowLimits. Mandy brings a wealth of other skills to her practise including Dramatherapist, Enneagram profiler, BSc(hons) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and ILM in Leadership. She has facilitated the West Midlands Co-Coaching forum for 13 years and has recently been nominated for AC Contributor who has made an outstanding and exceptional contribution. She has contributed to AC events including ‘Creativity and Coaching’ and also had a section on ‘Systemic Coaching in the Public Sector’ in the book Performance Coaching by Carol Wilson. She has committed to her passion of life long learning developing expertise in personal development programs, team building, pioneering new ideas in organisations and inspiring individuals.
Mandy was shortlisted for ‘Teacher of the Year’ 2020 TES Awards.
Louise Creswick, for the past two years, has run her own coaching business, specialising in the field of grief and loss. Helping people in life beyond loss – whether a bereavement, or another significant loss. It was soon after completing her MSc in Psychology, that Louise suddenly lost her mother and almost immediately her father started to display signs of dementia. Louise lost her father several years later. Louise started out working in mental health and then spent 13 years in a leadership and training role in the social housing sector. It was after her second job redundancy, Louise trained as a life coach and NLP Practitioner. Currently Louise is undertaking teacher training in mindfulness (MBSR) at Bangor University.
Neale Wood suffered from PTSD over 20 years ago, whilst a serving police constable. Neale was determined to understand the effects of stress in all its forms and how it impacts on the whole body/person. Within this time Neale have worked as a consultant specialist in the field of stress and worked with some of the largest businesses covering all sectors. Having worked with many of the different fields of mental health, Neale has direct knowledge of the way they work and the benefits they had delivered to both individuals and businesses alike. Now working as a transformational coach and using the 3Ps, Neale finds results can be gained much faster for the clients he is in service to.
