Coaching Presence

Presence is the foundation stone that all coaching tools, techniques, and interventions sit upon. Without that foundation stone, coaching does not work.

The extent to which coaching is successful is the extent to which the coach is aware of and understands the nature of presence and how it shows up in their coaching.

In this webinar series, Maria will encourage us to undertake an in-depth exploration of presence - where it comes from and what gets in the way. She will show us the power of reflecting on these two questions to bring the power of presence to your coaching.

In this webinar series you will learn:

  • What is presence
  • The difference presence makes in coaching
  • How you already know what presence is, even if you think you don’t

Maria will provide the opportunity for live Q&A in each session.

Topics and schedule for the webinar series

**Live webinars will take place at 13.00 BST on the above-mentioned dates.

Webinar 1: The Presence of What?

For there to be ‘presence’ it might indicate that there is a ‘something’ that is present. If I’m going to do it in my coaching, shouldn’t I know what that something is, what it looks like, what it feels like? When I know what it is, then I can learn to do it. Can’t I?

Webinar 2: What difference does it make?

I have a whole load of tools and techniques that stand me in good stead, so why should I concern myself with presence? I’m getting pretty good results in my coaching already, so what difference would presence make?

Webinar 3: How do I stay present?

I want to know how to get present. What skills, tools, techniques will help me to get there? What gets in the way? How do I stop that happening? How do I ensure I stay present for the whole of my coaching sessions?

Webinar 4: Going deeper.

What have we learned about presence? Going deeper to find out more. How and where do I go from here?

Recordings and slides will be made available to all registered participants.

Preparation

  • Take the time to reflect on your own presence in your coaching sessions prior to the webinars
  • What do you notice about it?
  • What gets in the way of it?
  • How do you know that you’ve been present?
  • What does presence mean to you?
