Clients often commence coaching to deal with particular challenges or improve specific performance areas and these also can be opportunities for deeper growth and transformation. To celebrate the launch of Ben’s new book, Adventures in Coaching, Ben will be sharing 3 key ideas to make your coaching more transformative and bring greater depth to your work.
This will be an interactive event involving explanation of the ideas, coaching examples, small group discussion, practical exercises and Ben will read some short passages from the book.
In this Virtual Event you will learn:
- The difference between practical problem solving and focusing on solutions and working with a Client’s thinking, feeling and ideas about a problem.
- Questions to help clients separate their thinking about a situation from the actual situation.
- When is helping not helping? How do we recognise when a coaching conversation may be disempowering a Client? How do we as coaches empower Clients and foster self-reliance instead of dependence?
- The difference between 1st and 2nd order change and how to identify this.
- How to create opportunities for 2nd order change and greater transformation.
