Keep your Practice Fresh: 101 Coaching Supervision Techniques
How do you keep your practice fresh? Supervision is one way of reflecting on your work so that you can see more than you saw at the time. But what happens when your supervision becomes a bit stale?
This exclusive, AC Signature Program, will provide an in-depth learning experience with a small group of experienced Coaches and Coaching Supervisors ready to do a deep-dive into the world of Supervision!
Michelle Lucas will introduce you to 11 experts in specific supervision techniques, allowing you experiment and practice and supporting you to keep your coaching practice fresh.
The program is based on Michelle’s new book - “101 Coaching Supervision Techniques, Approaches, Enquiries and Experiments”
- published by Routledge in May 2020, which brings together 43 contributors, all offering their experience and favourite techniques. The book has been designed with both Supervisor and Supervisee in mind, to ensure you are constantly stretching
your reflective practice together.
In this program, across 11 in-depth webinars, you will have the opportunity to meet and experiment with an author from each of the book chapters, enjoying both philosophical and practical elements.
How will it work?
This Signature Programme offers a rich and bespoke learning experience where delegates can immerse themselves in new ways of working.
Each webinar will follow a similar format:
- The author will begin by explaining the main principles of their particular philosophical stance
- They will then share with you one of their techniques from the book
- Depending on the nature of the technique, they may work with the whole group guiding you through the approach or they may provide an explanation of the technique and then give you time to practice it in a smaller group
- Once you have worked directly with the technique there will be a chance to reflect, discuss and share your experiences
- There will be time to raise any questions you have directly with the author
Participants will comprise a fixed group of up to 30 who will work together from September 2020 until July 2021. We encourage participants to commit to the entire program as sessions will be recorded (for those who can't join live) and a buddy system will be set up to help with additional practice.
Who is this signature program for?
This programme is dedicated to trained Supervisors as well as Coaches who are experienced Supervisees.
For Supervisors we hope the program will offer insight into alternative philosophies and techniques from those that they may have been trained in, thereby extending the repertoire from which they can work.
For Coaches, it will be important that they have already experienced supervision, as this program will assume that they hold an underpinning knowledge of how supervision “works”.
We hope the program will enable them to be more discerning and become more proactive in how they shape their supervision experience with their supervisor.
In this Signature Programme, you will learn:
a) Key principles of a particular Coaching Supervision philosophy
b) How to work with one supervision technique
c) What impact this particular philosophy and technique has on your own reflective practice
d) Where else you might use this approach in your own practice
e) How other practitioners reflect and supervise
Active learning and resources
Participants will receive a link to an excerpt from the book to read before each webinar.
Following each webinar, you will receive a link to a second excerpt from the book.
As with all of our webinars, you will have access to the recording of the session and a copy of the slides. (Please note that we don’t record the breakout rooms
- join live to enjoy the interactive part of the program)
Participants will be invited to join a LinkedIn Group to continue the conversation.
