Coming from a family business background, I experienced that coaching can be very helpful for members of business families, especially when the line between ‘home’ and ‘work’ blurs. Inter-relational problems can influence work performance and general wellbeing. Therefore, I made it my mission to help individuals as well as teams to reach their full potential and help them learn to cope when situations are out of their control.
Given, that over 70% of the global GDP is generated through family owned/run businesses it is an area that can't be neglected (In 2014, 4.6 million [87%] of all private sector firms in the UK were family businesses). It is the most basic of business models and is therefore often taken for granted. Family dynamics can have an enormous impact on the smooth running of a company and I believe that my hands-on experience helps me to establish a trusting relationship with the client more easily than a coach who might not have the insights.
Due to my German heritage in conjunction with my living in Asia for over a decade, I’ve developed a wide understanding of the many nuances in individual’s behaviours and I found an appreciation and fascination for those differences. This skill is especially helpful when analysing organisational cultures, especially when there is a need of change.
