Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, all of Fife, Tayside and Lothian,
Having originally trained as a Social Worker, and thereafter as a Practice Teacher for Social Work, I have then moved into Counselling and Psychotherapy work, advising and assisting young people and students for over 25 years. With a doctorate in Organisational Psychology I now have over 10 years experience in coaching staff developing into senior management, assisting with self reflective practice, some under-performance reviews and have moved on to supervising other coaches, psychotherapists and counsellors. I have been described as straightforward and honest, and I hope to keep that up. If my clients are willing to look deep into their own thoughts/motivations, then I feel privileged and trusted to make that journey with them.
I can work with a broad range of clients - the key theme being one of honest self reflection. I am experienced in helping people develop themselves - I have been lucky to work with some excellently motivated people and I am personally delighted in their success in their careers thereafter. Management Development. Career Development. I specialise in those working at difficult boundary points where painful work situations test the limits on the private life, and where confusion on the future can lead to stagnation.
Personally I believe in the transformational nature of education and have worked in that field and/or training for over 25 years. Having raised a large family single-handed, I understand about juggling work/life and "aiming" for a balance. I now professionally work with a CBT slant to some of my work, actively developing compassion and acceptance in those I work with. On a personal basis I run, hillwalk, I love film and theatre. (I do not bake or iron. Ever)
