A helicopter pilot and flying instructor by training, I am a recently retired 3 Star officer in the RAF. My last role was the RAF’s Deputy Commander and Air Force Board Member responsible for capability (HR oversight for 40 000 people, training delivery of 50 000 courses per year across Defence, responsible for delivery of annual £3.8 Bn equipment plan and infrastructure responsibility for 26 bases. I am now the RAF’s ambassador for Ireland, a NED on a large NHS Acute Trust, Chairman of the board for a group of private hospitals, CAA and RAF Human Factors Coach and facilitator now working with NHS groups and executives to improve human performance and improve error management. I have also recently started working with a F1 team. Finally, I am a freelance flying instructor and performance coach.
