Dare to Care: Coaching Across Racial Differences

Research suggests that globally, around 85% of executive coaches are white. While white people often speak as though they are outside the issue of race, black and brown people are frequently racially identified - whether by choice or not - and this can significantly shape lived experience.

As coaches and supervisors, how willing are we to open up and explore these conversations within our work?

In this reflective and interactive webinar, Fenella Trevillion and Gwyn Thomas explore coaching and supervision across racial difference through the Dare to Care Compass - a practical framework illustrating the intersection of courage and care in coaching conversations. Together, they consider avoidance, fear, vulnerability, and the possibility of a deeper connection through greater daring.

Using reflection tools, journaling, discussion, and breakout conversations, participants will be invited to explore their emotional responses when working across racial difference and consider how more open, identity-aware dialogue can create transformative coaching spaces.

In this webinar, you will learn

•	Why coaching and supervising across racial differences is an ethical and professional responsibility
•	How to recognise emotional responses that can emerge in identity-aware coaching conversations
•	How the Dare to Care Compass can support more open and transformative dialogue
•	Practical identity-aware contracting questions for coaching and supervision
•	How to develop greater confidence and competence when working across differences

Coaching Supervision in Practice

Live Coaching Demonstration with Yannick Jacob

Coaching supervision is increasingly recognised as an essential component of professional coaching practice. Yet many coaches have never had the opportunity to observe supervision in action and may be unsure what actually happens within a supervision conversation.

In this Live Coaching Demonstration (LCD), Yannick Jacob invites participants into the supervision room to observe a live supervision session with a real supervisee. Drawing on existential philosophy and positive psychology, Yannick demonstrates how supervision creates a reflective, relational, and ethically grounded space in which coaches can explore challenges, deepen their awareness, and develop their practice.

Following the demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on what they observed, explore the thinking behind the supervision process, and engage in discussion about the practical value supervision brings to coaching practice.

This session offers a rare opportunity to witness supervision in action while gaining insight into how reflective practice can foster greater awareness, confidence, courage, and authenticity as a coach.

In this webinar you will learn:

What coaching supervision can look like in practice

How reflective practice supports coach development and effectiveness

The models and theories that inform Yannick's supervision approach

Why supervision is an important part of ethical and sustainable coaching practice

How supervision helps coaches navigate challenges, blind spots, and professional growth

Who should attend?

This session is designed for new and experienced coaches, executive coaches, team coaches, internal coaches, supervisors, leader coaches, and HR/OD professionals who are interested in reflective practice and professional development.

It will be particularly valuable for coaches who are curious about supervision, considering working with a supervisor, or interested in exploring different approaches to supervision practice.

No previous experience of supervision is required.

Active Learning

Participants will observe a live supervision session with a real supervisee and are invited to share observations, reflections, and questions throughout the session.

Following the demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their insights in breakout groups before returning to the main session for a facilitated conversation exploring themes, learning points, and practical applications.

Preparation

We invite participants to arrive with curiosity and an open mind. Take a few moments before the session to check in with yourself, set aside distractions, and prepare to engage in reflective observation and discussion.

Resources

Participants will receive access to the webinar recording and slides following the session.

Additional resources to support your ongoing learning will be shared in your booking confirmation and during the webinar, including coaching resources, reflective practice materials, and opportunities for further learning with Yannick.

Speaker Bio

Yannick Jacob is an existential life and leadership coach, trainer, and supervisor with Master's degree in Existential Coaching and Applied Positive Psychology.

He teaches at the University of Cambridge and the International Centre for Coaching Supervision (ICCS), and designed the School of Positive Transformation's Accredited Certificate in Integrative Coaching, bringing together many of the coaching profession's most influential practitioners and pioneers.

Through Yannick's Coaching Lab, coaches can observe experienced practitioners working live with clients.
AC Webinar Series: Burnout-Aware Coaching

Burnout is a lived reality for leaders, professionals, and coaches alike. Participants learn how to recognize burnout patterns in themselves and their clients, understand burnout through a nervous-system lens, and develop ethical discernment around what is coachable and what requires referral or stabilization.

Designed for practicing coaches working in complex environments, this series provides practical frameworks, reflective tools, and clear next steps for developing burnout‑informed coaching practice.

Have you heard of Gestalt coaching but felt unsure about what it actually is or how it differs from other coaching approaches? Perhaps you have come across techniques such as the “empty chair” or working with projections and want to understand them more deeply.

In this 60-minute online AMA, Dina Sabry Fivaz invites AC members into an open conversation about Gestalt coaching as a relational and experiential approach. Drawing from Gestalt psychology, existentialism, phenomenology, bodywork, movement, creativity, and systems thinking, Gestalt coaching explores what is emerging in the present moment rather than relying on fixed techniques or predefined models.

This session is shaped entirely by participants’ questions and curiosity. Depending on the discussion and group interest, Dina may also offer a short live Gestalt coaching demonstration during the session.

You can ask Dina anything about Gestalt coaching, including:

•	What Gestalt coaching is and how it differs from other coaching approaches
•	The role of presence, awareness, and relational dynamics in coaching
•	How Gestalt concepts such as projections or the “empty chair” are used in practice
•	Why Gestalt coaching focuses on process rather than content
•	How relational and systemic perspectives support coaching conversations
•	What Gestalt coaching can offer when working with complexity, transition, and uncertainty

You set the agenda, so the conversation will be organic, practical, and shaped by what matters most to you.

Who is this AMA for?

This session is designed for:

•	New and experienced coaches
•	Executive, leadership, career, health, and wellbeing coaches
•	Supervisors, internal coaches, and HR/OD professionals
•	Practitioners who are curious about relational and experiential approaches to coaching

If you have ever wondered how Gestalt coaching works in practice or wanted the opportunity to ask questions in an open and reflective space, this session is for you.
