Morning Session

Between 2019 and 2024 Paul conducted an extensive piece of meta-research into team effectiveness, from which emerged the book The Wise Team Coach: Crafting a Personal Approach to Team Coaching, and a team coach development program for coaches and managers. At the request of many of the team coaches he works with, Paul has further expanded on coach development materials to include a whole piece on how to Prepare Yourself. Team coaching can be tough, and Paul shares insights into how best ready yourself to walk into a room prepared to do work with an intact team, the members of which may be anxious and/or angry. In the Flow: Leading as optimal experience

In a world obsessed with certainty, leadership has become synonymous with control. We seek data to forecast the future, shape strategies to minimise risk, and use AI to do our thinking for us. Yet despite our best efforts, complexity and uncertainty keep outpacing us. Control becomes contraction and we find ourselves caught up in cycles of stress, stagnation and silo-working. We’re left feeling overwhelmed, overworked and under-inspired, and managing people who are equally disengaged.

Dare to Care: Coaching Across Racial Differences

Research suggests that globally, around 85% of executive coaches are white. While white people often speak as though they are outside the issue of race, black and brown people are frequently racially identified - whether by choice or not - and this can significantly shape lived experience. 

As coaches and supervisors, how willing are we to open up and explore these conversations within our work?

In this reflective and interactive webinar, Fenella Trevillion and Gwyn Thomas explore coaching and supervision across racial difference through the Dare to Care Compass - a practical framework illustrating the intersection of courage and care in coaching conversations. Jen Kidby has been applying psychology in the workplace for over 25 years, working as an external consultant, an internal practitioner, and a leader. She is a Chartered Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and an accredited coach and coach supervisor.  She is the editor and co-author of Coaching as a Leader, published in 2025 in collaboration with the Association for Coaching. She currently works for Doane Grant Thornton LLP in Canada as the Director for Leadership Development and Succession Planning.

GB Virtual Event: A Model for Change

In this session, Charlotte will share more about this change model, grounded as it is in her research, 30+ years of practice as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and Change Manager, and more recently, as a Chartered Coaching Psychologist. This change model is practical and useful for both coaching conversations and across a full coaching programme.

One key aspect the model brings alive is the difference between what a client does and how they do it. Clients often miss this distinction which can have consequences on their ability to create sustainable change.  Charlotte will share real case studies from the research that brings this to life.

GB Virtual Event: Resourcing Clients Through Change

During 2019 and 2020, Charlotte Sheridan conducted 75 hours of interviews with 108 people in 27 countries who were navigating changes in their life and work. 

One pattern emerged consistently across her research: clients who successfully navigated change weren’t just the ones with the clearest goals, they also had the right resources to sustain them.

Charlotte will explore what this means in practice — drawing on chapters from her book Swim Jump Fly to map the full range of resources that enables sustainable change. These include mindset and self-belief, values and acceptance, physical health and rest, skills and money, and the quality of support from the people around us.

The session is designed to give coaches a way of identifying what may be missing for their clients when their change projects run into difficulty.

Participants will leave with practical tools to use with clients and a richer, more systemic understanding of what it means for a client to be ready for change and to sustain it.

• A holistic framework for assessing client readiness for change — covering mindset, physical wellbeing, practical resources, and social support

• Understanding of the Paradox of Change — why acceptance of where a client is now is the foundation, not the obstacle, for movement

• Ways to work with clients around limiting beliefs, inner critics, and thinking errors, including tools drawn from Cognitive Behavioural Coaching and Acceptance and Commitment Coaching.

• Discussion of how physical resources (exercise, sleep, rest, stress) affect a client’s capacity to change — and how to raise this in conversations

• A practical framework for helping clients conduct an honest reality check — is now the right time, and is this the right size of change?
