AI Virtual Café: Latest Research Findings on AI Coaching
AI is rapidly entering the coaching world - but what actually works? Join us for a thought-provoking session where evidence replaces assumptions and research meets real-world coaching.
In this AI Virtual Café, Professor Nicky Terblanche, one of the leading researchers in AI coaching, shares fresh, ground-breaking insights from two new studies:
1. Which model works best in AI coaching? A direct comparison of GROW, Solution-Focused, and CBT frameworks embedded in AI coaching chatbots.
2. Directive vs. non-directive AI coaching:
What happens when AI “leads” the session - and what changes when it “listens”?
The findings raise essential questions:
• Can AI truly coach? • Do the same principles that guide human coaching also hold true for machines? • How can coaches stay informed and ethical as AI enters our profession?
Whether you’re already experimenting with AI tools or just starting to explore, this Café is your space to learn, reflect, and discuss with peers in real time.
In this session, we will explore: • How AI tools are being designed, implemented, and evaluated in coaching • What research reveals about directive vs. non-directive approaches in AI coaching • The ethical and practical implications for coaches • Why research literacy is now a core skill for future-ready coaches
Why does this matter for coaches? Research is your compass in the AI era. It separates hype from evidence - and helps you make confident, ethical decisions in your coaching practice. In this Café, we replace noise with research you can use so that you can lead conversations about AI coaching with clarity and ethics.
Who should be attend? This session is ideal for coaches of all levels and specialisms - executive, career, team, internal coaches, or supervisors - who are ready to explore how AI can support a sustainable, future-ready coaching practice.
Resources included Registered participants will gain access to the webinar recording and slides.
Be Part of the Conversation We look forward to hearing your ideas, questions, and experiences. Whether you’re an AI early adopter or cautiously curious, explore how technology can serve the future of coaching - thoughtfully and ethically.
