Why choose Association for Coaching (AC) Coach Accreditation?

While the AC’s position is that accreditation is a choice, some members choose to go down the accreditation route, beyond their coaching certifications they get from who they trained with, to provide some extra benefits.

These include:

  • providing an extra dimension to your credentials by demonstrating that your coaching has been assessed by an independent coaching body.
  • if you choose the AC's Executive Coach Accreditation Scheme, feel assured that the scheme was closely developed and aligned with the needs of buyer and internal coaching sponsors.
  • being reassured that the scheme, that is both evidence and practice based, is bench marked against high professional standards and rigor.
  • demonstrating your commitment to ongoing coach supervision, and ongoing continuous professional development and learning, so that stay relevant for your clients.

Who can apply for AC Coach Accreditation?

The AC Coach Accreditation is inclusive, and available to all coaches whatever your background, training, and experience.


The AC Coach Accreditation Schemes available

AC Coach Accreditation is made up of two pathways:



Executive Coach Accreditation schemes

For coaches working primarily in an organizational context

Coach Accreditation schemes    

For all other coaches



There are subsequent levels of accreditation within each scheme pathway:

Executive Coach > Foundation Exexcutive Coach > Executive Coach > Professional Executive Coach > Master Executive Coach

Coach > Foundation Coach > Coach > Professional Coach > Master Coach

There is a set criteria for coach training and experience for each level. You can opt to accredit at any level at any time, as you choose the level that best suits yours needs and meets your coach training and experience.



Renewing and Upgrading

Once accreditation has been achieved, your AC Coach Accreditation will be valid for three years. We will inform you when your accreditation is due for renewal, near to the end of the three-year period. We will take you through the steps required in order to renew and maintain your AC Coach Accreditation.

You can upgrade the level at which you are accredited at any stage throughout your three-year accreditation period, or you can upgrade at renewal stage too.
