My passion is self-development. My style of coaching is solution-focused, person-centred, non-directive, facilitative and empathic. I work in partnership with clients to create a safe, confidential space for creative thinking, using a style that is equally supportive and challenging, built on high mutual trust and respect. My aim is to ‘unlock’ the potential within. I offer coaching to anyone working within or aspiring to work within health/social care and higher education. I have 19 years’ experience within the NHS, as an Allied Health Professional and senior manager. Currently a university lecturer, within a Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine, leading an MSc Leadership Development programme and PGC Medical Leadership. I also lead with the Royal College of Physicians a Health Education England (NW) contract to deliver a medical leadership module to senior trainee doctors throughout the North-West.
I offer coaching to anyone working within or aspiring to work within health/social care and higher education. My coaching style is aligned with a solution focussed approach. In practice a solution-focussed approach is based on the following principles: ? A focus on solutions ? An assumption that positive change will occur ? The use of a collaborative working alliance ? Change the viewing to change the doing ? Being pragmatic and flexible My approach works well if you are: open to exploring new approaches and learning from your own experience; proactive; and committed to action between sessions. My approach works less well if you are: unwilling to explore new possibilities; see things from a variety of perspectives; not open to learning/change; and prefer to be directed.
