Can Accredited/Recognised certificates be given to students retrospectively?

The AC appreciates that it can be challenging to run a programme prior to getting it accredited. We are currently trialling a pilot approach with a few select organizations and the following:

• Your current programme will be a "pilot" and meet all of the eligibility requirements for the level of Coach Training Accreditation you wish to apply for
• Upon completion of the class-based hours you will gain references from these participants to support your application
• The "pilot" participants will then continue with undertaking the required number of hours of self-study and the outside of class coaching practice hours to complete your programme in its entirety - this can be done concurrently
• If you have been successful in your application the "pilot" participants, once they have completed the self-study and coaching practise hours, will be able to say they have completed an AC Accredited Coach Training Programme
• You will complete the Coach Training Accreditation application incorporating all of the required elements and include a statement to say that all future programmes will have the self-study and additional coaching practice hours run concurrently with the programme
• Upon completion of your second programme you will submit three further references so that we can be certain that all elements of the accredited programme have been adhered to as submitted in your application

To clarify further you will be applying for your Coach Training Programme to be accredited with the AC. This means that once participants have completed your programme (subject to your successful application to the AC) they will be able to say that they have completed an AC Accredited Coach Training Programme.

It will not mean that they can describe themselves as AC Accredited Coaches. However, as an AC Organizational Member you can offer one year gifted Introductory Associate Membership to participants and they can choose to work towards gaining AC Individual Coach Accreditation in the future.

We offer tailored webinars for your students to explain what AC Individual Coach Accreditation is and how it can be achieved. Often this is built in as part of the programme and is found to be very valuable - please let me know if this would be of interest to you.
