094: Coaching for an Engaged Workplace with Geoffrey Matthews

“It's that strong emotional connection with the job and the organization which characterizes engagement."

Geoffrey Matthews, HR Strategist and Coach, joins host Sylvain Newton for our first AC DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) podcast to discuss what employee engagement is, how it differs from motivation, and the role coaches play.

Workplaces have changed rapidly in the past few years. The pandemic has seen many shift to virtual or hybrid working practices, increasing the risk of people feeling isolated or disconnected. The 'Great Resignation' underlines how people are looking for more than just money when choosing a job - they want purpose and meaning. The workplace culture is becoming more critical.

Given the changes in how people view their work, this podcast explores what it means for people to be 'engaged', how leaders can foster an engaging workplace and what coaches can do to help foster better workplaces for the future.
