An Exploration of Neurodiversity-Informed Coaching

An AC Coaching Conversation with Franck Brown

Every coaching conversation is shaped by the unique ways people think, feel and make meaning. As awareness of neurodiversity grows, coaches have an opportunity to deepen their understanding of how different cognitive experiences influence the coaching relationship and the conditions clients need to thrive.

In this 30-minute LinkedIn Live session, Clare Manning will be in conversation with Franck Brown, inviting him to elaborate on key reflections from his recent article and share insights from both his practice and lived experience.

What this conversation will explore

Clare will guide a focused exploration of several essential themes, including:

  • Psychological safety and why it is foundational when coaching clients who may feel pressure to adapt or mask aspects of themselves.
  • How clients relate to a diagnosis, including the different emotions, meanings and questions that can arise, and how coaches can hold space for these experiences.
  • Coaching approaches that support or hinder neurodivergent clients, with practical examples from Franck’s own work.
  • The personal lens, where Franck will share how his lived experience informs his coaching practice and understanding of difference.

These reflections offer coaches a grounding in how a neurodiversity-informed perspective can strengthen trust, presence and partnership in coaching.

Why this matters

Even a small shift in awareness can meaningfully enhance psychological safety and broaden a client’s sense of possibility. This conversation aims to support coaches in developing sensitivity, confidence and curiosity when working with clients whose ways of thinking or processing may differ from expected norms.

Our AC Coaching Conversations feature authors from the Coaching Perspectives magazine, this time focusing on “Neuroscience and Neurodiversity”. (July 2025 edition).
