They each share how they integrate their different approaches such as art, mark-making, improvisation, photography, objects and music to create a powerful and impactful coaching experience for their clients. This conversation invites coaches to be brave, experience and experiment with creative tools and de-bunks the idea you must be an artist to be a creative coach.

Guest's Bio

Andrea Giraldez-Hayes, PhD, is an experienced chartered psychologist, coach, supervisor, lecturer and consultant. Curious and passionate about learning, and personal and professional development, she is a person of many talents built throughout 35 years of experience in different roles within the arts, education and coaching, and positive psychology sectors. Since 2018, Andrea has been the director of the MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology at the University of East London. She applies an evidence-based creative and integrative approach to coaching clients, and supervising individuals and groups, by conveying the power of the arts.

 

Anna Sheather is an executive coach, supervisor, and self-taught artist. Anna has been coaching since 2006, setting up Elan Coaching in 2007. She has been increasingly combining art with her coaching practice and, in 2016, set up ART in Coaching, a platform sharing her research and writing, as well as providing development programmes for coaches who want to develop an art-based practice. In 2019 Anna's book, Coaching Beyond Words - Using Art to Deepen and Enrich Our Conversations, was published by Routledge. Anna has now launched a Diploma in ART-Based Coaching accredited by the Association for Coaching.

 

Julie Flower is a leadership and team development practitioner and coach, with a specialism in improvisation and navigating complexity. She is also External Tutor in Coaching at Henley Business School. She runs her own practice, The Specialist Generalist, and works internationally as an associate with leading consultancies and flagship leadership development programmes. Julie is an experienced improv performer, including with award-winning Improbotics, a group which explores AI and human interaction.
