061: Beyond Diversity and Inclusion to Anti-oppression, Liberation & Freedom

In this Episode

Charmaine Roche, coach and supervisor, drawing on the research report Racial Justice, Equity and Belonging in Coaching, joins host Dr Alexandra Morgan to argue that we need to move beyond diversity and inclusion to anti-oppression, liberation and freedom. She asks, "What if people do not like the table you are inviting them to sit at? Why not redesign the table, or remove the need for one, not just change the composition of the faces that sit around it?”

You Will Learn

  • Why the intention behind change is as important as the nature of the change
  • How the issue of race exemplifies many tensions
  • How structural and systemic racism is hard-boiled into our social, economic and political systems
