Research into Coaching & Introversion

Posted By Andrew Elson, 14 April 2022
Dear Fellow AC Members, I am a coach and lecturer, based at the University of Gloucestershire and I am doing research for my MBA for which I'd like to interview Coaches on Coaching and Introversion. This will involve introverted coaches (as identified by their Myers-Briggs score) being interviewed by me via Teams. My research questions and objectives will aim to explore the following: Why might introversion in professional coaches be a valuable asset? A study of the personality types of Executive Coaches through the lens of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and what this could mean for coaching practice. To explore through the literature the influence of being a certain introverted personality type as defined by the Myers Briggs test have on practices, relationships, and outcomes for Executive coaches and their clients. To investigate via a qualitative study the impact of this personality type on coaching practices. To develop a better understanding of how this personality type influences the work of coaches. If you would be willing to help me, then please read the attached and get in contact. Thank you in advance, Andy Elson Email: AndrewElson@hotmail.com or Aelson1@glos.ac.uk
